Playdate Appoints Former Bumble PM as Board Advisor
Playdate, a dating app that serves the single parent community, has appointed John Kneeland as an Advisor to the Board. Kneeland was the first Product Manager of dating app Bumble and was involved with product development at Facebook Dating.
In this new role, Kneeland will support the Playdate team with product development and iterations for scaling to different markets. The single parent dating app also highlighted that he will be involved in Playdate’s engagement, pricing, and conversion strategies.
Kneeland was the first Product Manager hired at dating app Bumble, eventually leaving the company after its IPO. He then joined Facebook, where he worked with product teams across Facebook Dating, Community, and Meet New Friends.

Over the past year, Playdate has seen over 50,000 app installs and proudly hosts a healthy 60/40 male to female split. Looking ahead, the platform is looking to optimise its UI/UX, scale to new markets, and grow its team.
