500k Users Join XFun in Q3
Friends-with-benefits and hookup app XFun welcomed more than 500,000 users to the platform in the third quarter of 2023. The platform shared that middle-aged users accounted for 38% of this influx, with married women making up a fifth of that group.
XFun, which helps users fulfill desires for friends-with-benefits or no-strings-attached dating, reported impressive user growth in a recent statement.
In the third quarter of 2023, XFun’s average monthly active users increased by 110% year-over-year, taking the platform’s overall tally for registered users to over 5 million.
Among its 500,000 new users this quarter, 38% are middle-aged, of which 20% are married women. XFun shared that this increase in middle-aged users represents a 300% growth compared to the third quarter of 2022, representing a shift in the platform’s demographic.
The platform explains that economic issues may be the cause of this particular demographic shift, as “the affordability and excitement of friends with benefits online can serve as an outlet for financial instability, providing a new experience without the burden of huge dating expenses”.
”The economic downturn has reshaped the landscape of dating and has had a notable impact on infidelity within marriages”, shared Justin R, XFun’s CEO.
“The significant increase in middle-aged users on our platform, suggesting those middle-aged men prefer to enjoy dating without much financial responsibility. Meanwhile, married women who feel neglected in their families find solace in young men who are willing to date them, embracing their youthful energy while also sharing dating expenses”, he added.
The platform highlighted that in times of economic difficulty, XFun can play “a multifaceted role”, helping younger users but also serving “as a crucial support and comfort zone for middle-aged individuals”.
