Blush – New AI Dating App from Replika Creators
Blush is a new dating simulator where users connect with different AI-generated characters as if they were swiping on real people. The platform was created by the team behind Replika, one of the most popular chatbot dating apps in the world.
A new report from Fast Company shares that Blush launched with an open beta this week. The objective of the platform is to help singles learn and practice their relationship skills in a virtual environment.
“Blush offers a judgment-free space to refine your relationship skills, leading to stronger and more fulfilling connections in the real world”, the Blush website explains.
“We decided that it wouldn’t be right to try and have it all in one app, to try and make Replika the everything friend, a companion for everything”, Replika’s chief product officer Rita Popova tells Fast Company.
“Getting that connection on dating apps is really difficult, talking to people, figuring out how to get to know someone, is really difficult and I feel like the best way to address it is practice,” she adds.
Blush was created with therapists and relationship experts to foster healthier in-person dating experience. The AI characters each have their own bio and personality like real dating app users would have.
The experience of chatting with these new ‘people’ and learning about them is meant to help Blush users hone their communication skills and flirting, Popova shares.
Blush is currently free to use, however it does offer a $99 annual premium subscription which unlocks more AI characters and a better match rate.
