Bumble Partners with Barbie
Ken and Barbie are coming to the Bumble app, as the platform partners with the upcoming film ‘Barbie’. Characters from the film will be providing suggestions for the ‘Compliments’ feature, which allows users to message someone before they match.
In a combination of yellow and pink, Bumble and Barbie have teamed up. Characters from the movie will appear on user’s screens with suggestions for messages that users can send one another before matching.
These suggestions include “Your taste in movies? Sensational” and “Hey. In case you forgot – you’re totally awesome”, and will run until July 26th.
While Bumble still operates through a swiping system, the recently added Compliments feature allows users to send a reply to a potential match’s prompts or photos. According to a survey by the dating app, 75% of respondents said getting a compliment from a potential match makes them more interested in that person.
“The power of kindness in creating healthy connections and relationships is undeniable, and ‘Compliments’ is just one of the many ways we empower our community to lead by example and make more meaningful first moves,” said Whitney Wolfe Herd, Founder and CEO of Bumble.
This isn’t the first partnership between Bumble and Warner Bros, with previous campaigns seeing the app promote films and the HBO streaming service.
