SIZZL: The Effortless App for Hookups
SIZZL is a new dating app for casual encounters, and it’s looking to make these interactions simpler and safer. The platform operates under the philosophy of “Casual people. Casual encounters. Casual use”.
The platform was founded by Gillian Myhill, a sex and dating expert with over 10 years of experience, who has been featured in popular media across the UK. Her co-founder is Phil Beesley, who previously created Gutsy Dating in 2018.
The platform is looking to put the fun back into dating, moving away from the “complicated algorithms or lengthy quizzes” that are found on other dating apps.
It is looking to create a low-pressure environment for dating. SIZZL doesn’t provide notifications and doesn’t time out a match when the user doesn’t respond. This forms part of its key belief in ‘Casual Use’.
The platform enforces security with human-supported verification and reporting systems, ensuring that only genuine people get to access the app. It also deploys a One-Time Password feature to have an extra layer of protection.
The platform offers a number of premium features, but offers a weekend pass for £1.99 which allows users to access these additional abilities from Friday-Sunday.
SIZZL is celebrating its launch with the SIZZL BIG WEEKENDER event, starting Friday 11th – Sunday 13th August. During this period, all sign ups will be able to access premium features like voice notes, and messaging without matching, for a limited time
“Sizzl exists to shake up hook-up culture. We wanted to provide a safer, stress-free and shame free platform that takes the effort out of casual encounters. The app comes with in-depth safety features, with more to come, and functions designed to improve the entire experience, so people can date in their own time, on their own terms. ” says Gillian Myhill, co-founder of Sizzl.
“People have become indifferent to and uninspired by dating apps. At Sizzl, we want to inject the excitement back into online dating. You don’t need to subscribe, or answer long winded questionnaires in real life, so why do it online? We want to make the experience as streamlined and easy as possible”, she continues.
