Tinder & Peacock Release Halloween Campaign
Tinder is partnering with streaming service Peacock for a new campaign revolving around horror movies. The dating app is offering singles the chance to win exclusive horror movie date night tickets and the ability to list spooky movies as an interest on their profiles.
Tinder shared that mentions of “scary movie” and “spooky movie” have spiked in October. In recognition of this, the dating app has introduced a ‘Horror Movies’ interest badge that users can now proudly display on their profiles.
The partnership between the two companies will also provide daters with an exclusive in-app Peacock offer available from October 4th to October 31st. Peacock is the exclusive streaming service of NBCUniversal, including films from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, as well as DreamWorks Animation and Illumination.
Tinder and Peacock will also be hosting “the ultimate horror movie date night” in New York, LA, and Chicago on October 13th. Tinder users will be able to RSVP for their city’s event through in-app notifications beginning October 4.
Peacock and Match Group, the parent company of Tinder, announced a broad partnership earlier this year.
Tinder and Peacock surveyed 1,000 individuals in the U.S about their perspective on romance & horror movies.
63% of respondents agreed that watching horror movies together is a great date activity, while horror was rated as the second-best genre to watch on a date, just behind comedy.
49% shared that a shared interest in horror movies can indicate a deeper compatibility between partners. “It seems those that scream together stay together”, said Peacock.
Creating an opportunity to get physically closer / cuddle was the number one benefit of watching horror movies on a date, followed by the thrilling experience, and the adrenaline rush, respondents identified.
