TikTok Trials $5 Ad-Free Subscription
TikTok has confirmed that it is trialling a $4.99 subscription plan that provides users with an ad-free experience. The testing is being done in an English-speaking market outside of the US.
Reports from Android Authority and TechCrunch highlight that this premium subscription will only apply to ads that TikTok presents, not the content created by influencer marketing for example.

TikTok has been mainly generating revenue through its e-commerce features and advertising, and this new model will be the first time it collects payments from users directly for an ad-free experience.
This new revenue model follows in the footsteps of other social media networks, including X and YouTube, which both offer premium subscriptions for ad-free experiences.
